The Moustache Sisters

The Moustache Sisters are Aya Kakeda and Nina Frenkel, two illustrators from New York who decided to craft a huge Wearable Moustache in order to enter a Mustache Constest sponsored by the Hungarian Cultural Center. They definitely created one of the coolest costumes ever made.

"To us, "Mustache Sisters" is a celebration
of collaborative creativity, frienship and fun."

Pool Moustaches

What could possibly be more "hip" than an Olympic team with mustaches? During the past Chinese Olympics, the Croatian Polo Team did something unusual in Olympic sports... they agreed to grown their upper lip extravaganza to show team unity & strength.

Croatia's Maro Jokovic told the Olympic Associated Press: "
We came to an idea to do something special, that will be only ours and we agreed because we are a team, we fight for each other and we die for each other, and we wanted to do something not so usual among other teams." (boston.com) Moustache Shouts!!!

Another famous moustache in the pool belonged to David Wilkie, a Scottish swimmer who once said "to a bunch of Soviet swimmers that his great times were down to his silky big moustache making him more streamlined in the water. At the next big event, the Soviets all turned up sporting similarly impressive moustaches…"

BTW I'm in Cuernavaca enjoying the pool... a Not interesting reason to post this Dumb mustachioed note.

Bienvenue Moustache!!!

A MOUSTACHE (or mustache) is facial hair grown on the upper lip. Often the term implies that the wearer grows only upper-lip hair while shaving the hair on his chin and cheeks. Growth of facial hair around the whole face would constitute a beard.

The word "Moustache" derives from 16th century French Moustache, which in turn is derived from the Italian Mostaccio (14th century), Dialectal Mustaccio (16th century), from Medieval Latin Mustacium (8th century), Medieval Greek Moustakion (attested in the 9th century), which ultimately originates as a diminutive of Hellenistic Greek Mustax (mustak-) "Moustache".
